Gabrielle Appleby is associate professor of law at the University of New South Wales and Co-Director of the Judiciary Project at the Gilbert + Tobin Centre of Public Law. She has previously worked for the Queensland Crown Solicitor and the Supreme Court of Queensland. Her research focuses on the regulation of the judicial branch of government and the role and ethics of government lawyers. She has published widely and co-authored several books, including The Role of the Solicitor-General: Negotiating law, politics and the public interest (2016) and Australian Public Law (2014).
